I joined Goldman Sachs as part of the 2021 New Analyst Program after an initial internship in 2020. Throughout my journey from an Intern to an Associate in the SecDb Runtime team, I have navigated various challenges around designing and implementing scalable solutions that contribute to business and technical capability at the firm.
Whether it is optimizing systems or improving workflows, I feel every day at GS is a new day. Every task presents an opportunity to create an impact, however small it may be. The collective work and design discussions strengthen my technical foundation and present opportunities to contribute my thoughts to the table. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see how our incremental efforts add value to the larger mission.
Beyond my technical pursuits, I also enjoy channeling my creativity through poetry and dance. It gives me immense pride to state that in the life an engineer at Goldman Sachs, we also have the apt forums to showcase our talents, hone our passion, and contribute to societal impact.
Driving Impact: Empowering through Engineering
What drives me at work and in life is the unwavering belief that technology can create a fairer, more inclusive world model.
Alongside the exciting & impactful work I do at my desk, I have also had the privilege to make valuable contributions beyond it. I spoke at the Women’s Possibilities Business Summit in 2022, where I connected with aspiring undergraduate students. I have also served as a panelist at events like Speaking with Engineering Interns, Analyst Forum, and Navigating Promotions at GS — decoding organizational processes and sharing insights on driving technical impact.
One of my proudest personal achievements outside of the office is founding WIT++: Women In Tech. In my commitment to fostering inclusion and diversity, I founded this women-led community in 2019, dedicated to mentoring women in STEM, with a special focus on computer science. Since then, this community has mentored nearly 300 women helping them navigate their careers.
These experiences have been humbling reminders of the ripple effect of empowerment. They have shaped my belief in the power of community and mentorship as a catalyst for growth and change.
Industry Connect: Growing Beyond Code at Goldman Sachs
At Goldman Sachs, every opportunity, big or small, has been exhilarating. From contributing to my team’s Engineering Expo booth, to participating in internal hackathons and Goldman Sachs Engineering conferences, I’ve been able improve my technical competency and proficiency.
The firm provides us with the opportunity and encouragement to engage in both personal and professional growth. Inspired by this support and innovation in technology, I had the chance to present my personal research work at IEEE ICC Conference 2022 in South Korea. In the spirit of collaboration and constant learning I have also participated in Conferences like PyCon APAC 2024 and Hyderabad Python Conference 2024. These events have not only sharpened my technical acumen but also taught me the value of perseverance in pursuing ambitious goals.
Growth & Future Aspirations
From adapting to new roles to navigating complex projects, every hurdle has made me stronger. Each interaction, project, and platform has helped me grow into a well-rounded professional with a deep appreciation for collaboration and diversity of thought.
My future aspirations are anchored in leadership and impact. I aspire to grow into a transformative leader, driving innovation while fostering diversity in technology. My goal is to never stop learning and building a legacy of inclusion and excellence and continuing to uplift underrepresented groups in STEM.
