Alex Golten

Alex Golten is the firm’s Chief Risk Officer. In addition, he serves as Chair of the Firmwide Risk Appetite Committee and Co-Chair of the Firmwide Enterprise Risk Committee, Firmwide Risk Council, and Capital Policy & Procedures Oversight Committee. He is also a member of the Management Committee, Firmwide Asset Liability Committee, Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses Committee, and Regulatory Oversight Committee. 

Mr. Golten joined Goldman Sachs in 1997 as an Analyst in the Credit Department and has worked in London and New York. He has held various leadership roles in the Risk Division as head of Finance Risk, Market Risk, Enterprise Risk and the firm’s Chief Credit Risk Officer. Mr. Golten was named Managing Director in 2008 and Partner in 2014.
